Environment-Friendly Initiatives at Schultz Bindery
At Schultz Bindery, we spend a lot of time thinking about how to reduce our impact on the environment. Over the past several years, we’ve identified several environmentally-friendly initiatives applicable in our facility and implemented them wherever feasible. Read on for a review of Schultz Bindery’s current eco-friendly practices and what we have planned for the future.
Waste Materials Recycling
Most of the materials used during our print finishing processes are recycled. Our recyclables include scrap paper — several tons per year — machine oil and skid packing materials such as plastic wrap and metal banding wire. Schultz Bindery's partnership with a reliable local recycling resource helps ensure that these potential waste products are recycled in a safe and efficient manner.
Eco-Friendly Facility Improvements
Another recent green initiative at Schultz Bindery was our installation of an energy-efficient lighting system. The new system improved the lighting in our facilities; it's also a strategic investment that's cut our energy costs. Budget-friendly or not, however, reducing our facility's energy usage was simply the right thing to do.
Green Now, Green for the Future
We have many eco-friendly initiatives under consideration, including upgrades to heavier door insulation and automated thermostat technology. Both installations are designed to limit energy loss in our facility during winter. We're always looking ahead to our next green initiative and hope to implement these and other green practices in coming years.
